During the headwind part of the ride on Sunday, I spotted this guy on the road and was happy to stop and take a pic of him. He let me take several photos before he ran off the road.
We are almost done riding today, 75 miles again back to Topeka! It was a little cooler and we had a slight tailwind. We were done around noon and I was on the road back to Indy in good time!
Today, we rode to Cottonwood Falls and back for a total of 50 miles. We had a great lunch at the cafe there. We had 35-40 mph headwinds on the way but got a fantastic tailwind for the trip back to Council Grove!
Here we are in Topeka at the beginning of the Cottonwood 200. We went 75 miles today, the forecast 25-35 mph headwinds arrived. It was rough but I got in about 3:30 PM and waited for the ride home to the lake and a rewarding cool swim!
Back in Kansas at one of my favorite spots, I found this cool metal flower!
My first trip in awhile, ouch! I guess it could be worse.....
I've been going to watch Tyler play bike polo near his house. They play several times a week. I might have to try.....
Finally the day arrived! Orientation time brings excitement, apprehension and some nervousness while wondering what the future holds for me.... I'm hoping I will become skilled in my new career!

Found this trail on my ride today. It is only one mile long from this point but looks to be quite the trail when complete!
These beautiful petunias fill 2 large pots sitting on the steps of the front porch.
I planted these flowers in the 2 pots on the front porch of Kristin's house, they look pretty nice!
I thought the stacked bananas from yesterday's race made a great photo!
