Life is like a camera
Focus on what is important
Capture the good times
Develop the negatives
and if things don't work out.....
Just take another shot.

What a great photo this is by Jeffrey Jakucyk. Sierra placed 3rd today in Louisville, KY at the Stormin' the Greens cyclocross race in Eva Bandman Park.
I found this photo of Sierra's race yesterday. She got 4th place at Lion of the Den Cyclocross in Yorktown, Indiana.
It took me awhile to get a photo of this salamander I saw in the old tile drain in the basement. He kept moving back in further when he saw me but finally he stayed still long enough.
Lisa made up cupcakes for our last day together. She is training to do my job while I'm gone becoming a certified trainer for a new computer system.
This was National Respiratory Care Week. Our department set up a display in the atrium at our Medical Center.
I found this 64 tooth chainring while house keeping. We got this in the early '90s, I think. I looked up Paragon Machine Works and it looks like they no longer make these. We got chainrings and bottom brackets from them for our Ibis Uptube Tandem.
I finally got ahold of Kristin's congratulations letter. That trip to Charleston was so worth it!
Kristin and I did the shopping for Sierra's cookie baking. We talked her into making oatmeal with dark chocolate chunks along with her famous chocolate chip favorites.
Sierra raced today at MTV CX #1. I got lots of great photos and she got 4th today out of a tough field of  her former team mates from Marian University!
It is time to part with some of my bikes. I spent most of today getting my beloved 1995 Ibis Ti Mojo ready to list for sale on ebay.
The SRAM rep stopped by the shop today selling some of his product. Maybe someone special will get something great for Christmas?
I'm on my way to Indy today to see the kids, including this silly guy!
Mother sent me this photo that she took. She said that it was just one of those gorgeous sky days!
We had noticed that someone from the propane company had been out to paint the tank. It wasn't until Rich was checking the propane percentage that he found the painters had added their own signature inside the lid.
Looks like Sierra got 3rd place yesterday in Bloomington, IN at Bloomingcross. I sure wish she could get someone to take a photo with a real camera!
The wood that Mother and I cut from her mulberry tree is now all stacked and drying for the winter. It was a little more than I thought and the stump still needs to be cut completely down. I couldn't get the big saw started so it had to wait.
Day lilies in mid October? This reblooming lily is doing it's job nicely and is a wonderful sight on a chilly morning!
Another of the dahlias that Kristin gave me for Mother's Day. It still hasn't frosted here yet and all the dahlias are putting on as big a show as they can before it does. This flower is about 7 inches in diameter, huge!
Sierra sent me a link to this photo of her at the Indy Criterium on 7/23/11. I was wondering why her legs and arms looked so dirty. I went through the gallery at VeloVivid and saw that it was raining for some of the race, so that explained it. I contacted VeloVivid and they were nice enough to let me post this photo on my blog! Take a look at www.VeloVivid.com
Kristin has been waiting for her test results since our weekend trip to Charleston. When the letter arrived addressed like this, she knew she had passed!
I found this photo of Sierra at the John Bryan Classic CX race in Dayton, OH today. Thanks to Jeffrey Jakucyk for being there to take photos! I love this one with the cosmos flowers in the background. Sierra just won the sunglasses she has on before the race. They go perfect with the flowers!
Mother send me this photo of stormy skies from the viewing hill a few miles from the lake. She "stitched" several photos together and this one doesn't show the full effect.
Cooler weather has slowed down the always active dragonfly so that I can get a good photo of one. He didn't stay long but I managed to get this shot which shows just how delicate those wings seem to be.
Mother and I took a break from lumberjacking and drove up to Grove Gardens where gourds are king this time of year. Bumpy, striped, white, orange, green, gray, spotted - you name it, they have them all!
Another one of the dahlias that Kristin gave me for Mother's Day. They are all trying to get as many blooms in as possible before frost!
New windows are being installed at Mother's house by " The Window Company".
Here's my favorite wildlife photo from last weekend. I went to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston. This particular alligator was in a freshwater pond next to the Ashley River. Prior to the Civil War, the rice field was planted and harvested by slaves that worked the plantation.
Kristin sent me this photo today that Jody sent to her. Since I was sitting at the table across from Jody at Poe's Tavern on Saturday night, she asked to to pretend I was taking a bite out of this burger so she could show Brian how huge it was. Kristin and I shared this Amontillado gourmet burger (guacamole, jalapeno jack, pico de gallo and chipotle sour cream).
Last night, Kristin and I went to historic downtown Charleston to the Noisy Oyster. We shared baked seafood Au gratin (shrimp, scallops, fish medallions snuggled under a rich blue crab stuffing, layered with cheddar and jack cheeses and topped with a Parmesan cream sauce) AND a seafood platter (shrimp, oyster, flounder and blue crab cakes). We left at 6 AM and were back in Indy at about 5:30 PM where we met Sierra and took Tyler out for his belated birthday dinner.
Kristin and I had such great food at the Folly Beach Crab Shack that we headed back there for lunch today and shared their Beaufort Stew (Carolina shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob and new potatoes steamed with the Shack’s special seasoning). Yumm!
Kristin's coworkers and I went to Sullivan's Island to have dinner at Poe's Tavern.
