Life is like a camera
Focus on what is important
Capture the good times
Develop the negatives
and if things don't work out.....
Just take another shot.

I drove down to the lake after work today for the long holiday weekend. I got there just in time to watch the sunset.
I hurried to get the camera to take a photo of this assassin bug. Turned out, it was just the exoskeleton left behind.
The cabbage heads are doing really well this summer. I will be making sauerkraut very soon!
Another beautiful asiatic lily, I think this one is called "Buttercream".
Rich and I went with Kristin, Tyler, and friends on Indianapolis' famous night ride. It started at 11 PM and went through Circle Center, Butler campus, the Indianapolis Museum of Art (complete with luminaries), along the White River, and back to IUPUI. By the time we got back home at 1 AM, we had ridden 30 miles.
Rich and I drove Sierra over to Ohio for an evening race in Madeira. It was an exciting downtown race with the streets lined with spectators.
We had a pot luck at work today, the theme was Mexican. Someone brought Choco Tacos, a long time favorite of Sierra's. I sent her this photo and her response was, "Why you tease me with that picture?"
Rich brought home this set of 3 terra cotta pots as a 32nd anniversary gift.
Sierra sent me this pic from her "muddiest MTB race ever" in French Lick, IN yesterday. She won the Cat 1 women race, trading the lead off and on throughout the course with the 2nd place finisher.
It was Summer Solstice Party VI at Becky & Denny's tonight. Elvis appeared again this year to play a few numbers with "The Band*Aides" in the Garage Door Lounge.
Last year, for Tristan's first ride across Iowa, we gave him one of Sierra's outgrown bikes. This year, he has grown so he got another of Sierra's bikes. He finally got it together and it looks like it will fit perfectly - if only for this year!
I saw this yellow swallowtail on my lilies and chased it around until I got a pic. Funny how they seem to sit still until the camera comes out!
The goose family grows up so quickly! I see this group nearly everyday on the Summerset Trail near Banner Lakes. There are 3 different families with 8-12 goslings each. I've never seen such large goose families!
It looks like the flood brought this tree down and slammed it into both sides of the trail bridge over the Middle River. I heard our area got around 9 inches of rain last week while I was gone.
I took today off from riding. I got 150 miles in last week in Indiana and Kentucky with about 100 of those miles on my new bike.
Sierra and I were both up early for our riding today. I was out on the trail for a last 20 mile ride before heading home and she was headed to southern Indiana to ride her mountain bike. After my ride, Kristin and I met for breakfast and then I headed for home.
I drove back to Indy last night. A storm blew through sometime after midnight and brought this tree down on the trail just north of the bike shop. I was up early for a 20 mile ride and the city crews didn't get this cleaned up until afternoon.
We rode some nice hilly miles around Maggie's house both yesterday and today. It was just what I needed to get my summer started!
Whenever visiting Maggie on Thursday or Sunday, we go to Metzger's Country Store where we walk the dogs that are up for adoption. Tonight, we walked 4 dogs and put 3 out to play for awhile in the fenced yard. Then we gave them treats and washed their water dishes. We all took a look at the newest kittens up for adoption that had just been rescued from under a house.
We found a garden center in Shelbyville that was closing out. These beautiful hanging baskets were $5 each. Needless to say, I got 4 and if I had more room in the truck, I wouldn't gotten more to take home!
I stopped by the bike shop today after my 20 mile ride and found that Tyler had put a handy basket on the back of the flea market bike that Kristin and I brought him on Sunday. It is now ready to be a great errand trail bike.
Sierra raced at Brown County Park today and got 3rd in Cat I Women with only about 2 minutes from the leader and 1 minute from second place. Kristin and I were there to spectate and walked backwards up the trail to watch in the woods. After the race, Kristin took me to Nashville, IN where we checked out some of the flea markets before heading back to Indy.
Sierra won her race today! It was at Eagle Creek Park on a loop in and out of the bright sun and wonderful shade. It was about 95 degrees today but her race was over by 12:30 PM.
Here's the cat nicknamed "the lingerer". He wanders around the little strip mall and hops in your car if the door or sun roof is left open!
Here's my yearly photo of the tulip tree blooming. I really enjoy waiting for it to bloom every year, it is very unique and beautiful!
Rich and I have been loading up the trailer for another trip to Tyler's shop.
