Day 7 of the great ride across Iowa - Coralville to Davenport, 65.6 miles with 2,363 feet of climbing. We passed through Iowa City, West Branch, Springdale, Moscow, Wilton, Durant, and Walcott.
Day 6 of the great ride across Iowa - Grinnell to Coralville, 74.9 miles with 2,681 feet of climbing. We passed through Brooklyn, Victor, Ladora, Marengo, West Amana, South Amana, Homestead, and Oxford.
Day 5 of the great ride across Iowa - Altoona to Grinnell, 57.5 miles with 3202 feet of climbing. We passed through Mitchellville, Colfax, Baxter, and Rock Creek State Park.
Day 4 of the great ride across Iowa - Boone to Altoona, 56.1 miles with 1147 feet of climbing. We passed through Luther, Slater, Sheldahl, Allerman, White Oak, and Bondurant.
Day 3 of the great ride across Iowa - Carroll to Boone, 70.9 miles with 1787 feet of climbing. We passed through Lidderdale, Lanesboro, Churdan, Paton, and Pilot Mound.
Day 2 of the great ride across Iowa - Atlantic to Carroll, 65.4 miles with 4719 feet of climbing. We passed through Elk Horn, Kimballton, Manning, Templeton, Dedham, and Willey.
Day 1 of the great ride across Iowa - Glenwood to Atlantic, 59.5 miles with 4,298 feet of climbing. We passed through Silver City, Carson, Griswold, and Lewis. It was a hot, rough day but we all made it to dinner at the Pizza Ranch.
Tristan enjoys his first ice cream of the ride across Iowa on Glenwood's town square. Rich and I had some corn on the cob from a stand that offered various toppings for the corn such as lime juice, mayonnaise, and cajon seasoning.
Tristan and I drove over to Davenport to pick up Maggie and Shelby for the great ride across Iowa. They quickly filled up the Equinox with all their baggage!
After burning her leg on the lawn mower last week, Sierra added a scraped up elbow and possible broken big toe this week!
I loved watching the little ones race today! They get out on the last straight of the track and race 4 times, just like us big kids!

Finally, they have opened the road now that the bridge work has been completed. The work to build a new bridge over the Middle River near Spring Hill started 10 months ago. Maybe now the traffic will return to normal on our road!
After my bike ride this morning, I stopped to take a photo of the roadside flowers. I'm sure some think they are weeds and I was surprised that they haven't been mowed yet. Then, about 2 hours after I took this photo, they were mowed down!
Becky and Denny stopped by tonight and brought this pot complete with citronella, salvia, sage, and pepper plants, an interesting combination that I wouldn't have planted myself. All you have to do is touch the leaves of each plant to smell the unique aromas.
Rich flew to Cancun yesterday, this is a view from the pool.

While on my bike ride today, I stopped to take a photo of this turtle. He must have just gotten out of a pond since the duckweed on his shell was still shining and wet.
